LIVE TO RIDE, RIDE TO LIVE
FOR ATMOSPHERE, WOULD LOVE TO HEAR SOME SORT OF SURF MUSIC TO STOMP AROUND TO. LOVED IT.
NO mention of Maroubra anywhere ..
CURATORS NOTE: Maroubra unfortunately gets left out of the final sections of the exhibition although we credit Frank Adler, from the Maroubra lifesavers, as having started the first separate board riders club in 1945, including footage of him and his mates hitting the surf (at Bondi) in 1945. We credit Maroubra teen Little Pattie and you can dial up Stompin at Maroubra on the audio kiosk… There’s also a few Maroubra snippets on the blog
Excellent display love the old boards and will be going to the 2012 Manly comp. to watch, of course!
A GREAT REPRESENTATION OF AUSTRALIA’S SURFING HISTORY WITH SOME BEAUTIFUL STILL PHOTOGRAPHY AND FOOTAGE! YEWWWW
